SARĀB
Live in Plovdiv
October 15 (Thursday)
Bee Bop Café, Plovdiv
20:00 – Doors • 21:00 – Sarāb
After their show in Sofia, the Arab-Syrian formation SARĀB will not miss the city under the hills! On October 15, the six-member collective steps onto the Plovdiv stage for the first time for a thrilling encounter with the audience at the legendary Bee Bop Café.
Boldly crossing the boundaries between styles, SARĀB (from Arabic – "mirage") combines Middle Eastern traditions, jazz improvisations, and heavy psychedelic rock to create hypnotic electronic soundscapes.
Their music flows between oriental maqamat and European harmonies, enriched with dense ornamentation and a cinematic atmosphere, at the heart of which lies the delicate beauty of Syrian poetry.
The project is born from the collaboration between singer Kliment Zarkan and guitarist Baptiste Ferandis. Initially as a duo, they performed works by Kliment's father – the famous Bashar Zarkan, but later the ensemble grew. It is precisely the clash between the diverse musical roots of the members and the forging of their own path between the chaos of post-punk and the poetic nature of Arabic lyricism that makes the sound of Sarāb so raw and unique.
The musicians arrive in our country with their new album Mīt Warde – One Hundred Roses, to captivate us with explosive energy, hypnotic vocals, analog synthesizers, and rhythm pushed to its limits.
