Python Meetup @ Sofia - September Edition

The event season is already in full swing! 🐍 Python Meetup @ Sofia returns with a new edition on September 30!

The topic is both useful and interesting, as they say, we’re kicking off the season strong.

💬 Topic: AI in Chains: Sandboxing AI Coding Agents on Linux
🗣️ Speaker: Dinko Georgiev

🔐 What we’ll be talking about:
AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) execute arbitrary commands with your user account’s full privileges—they read your personal files, passwords, and SSH keys, and can reach anything on the network that you can. Dinko will show us how he used Linux’s built-in tools—systemd, cgroups, nftables, and BPF—to build a robust sandbox that gives him peace of mind in his day-to-day work: the agent runs freely, he takes full advantage of AI-assisted coding, and dangerous access is blocked. In a live demo, we’ll take the cage apart layer by layer, break it, and fix it, with Python serving as our “microscope”—for kernel inspection, traffic monitoring, and pytest tests that prove the isolation really holds.
The talk will be delivered in Bulgarian.

🎤 About the speaker:
A senior backend developer and consultant with over 15 years of hands-on experience across the IT spectrum—system administration, DevOps (before it became a buzzword), testing and automation, software architecture, and technical leadership. At StorPool, Dinko is part of the Product Infrastructure team, which builds the systems around the product—including test and release automation that puts real storage clusters through their paces every day. Since AI agents started writing code at StorPool too, he’s been taming them as well—which is how the topic of this talk came about. Outside IT, he’s drawn to anything on two wheels (with or without an engine), the mountains, and the piano.
