In the program: works by Antonio di Berardo di Andrea, known as Zacara (c. 1360–1413) - a prominent Italian composer whose work is characterized by exceptional originality and unique autobiographical, often mysterious elements. Known for his complex secular songs from the “Luca Codex” and his extensive church compositions.

No composer in medieval musical civilization spoke so broadly about himself, nor signed his music so insistently. References to himself and his personal misfortunes are often expressed in a cryptic language, using a strange combination of motto and riddles. Hence the title of this program: Enigma Fortuna. The music of Zacara is a world whose diversity, complexity, and vastness continually astonish and captivate the listener.
