Dry Needling Level I Course - October 9, 10, 11 (3 Days).
🔍 What are Dry Needles (Dry Needling) is a very successful medical therapy that uses very thin needles without injecting medication to achieve its goal, the so-called "Dry Needles," which are used to treat pain, musculoskeletal dysfunctions, headaches, and some neurological problems.
Dry needles reach the trigger points in the muscles to provoke a local response. The musculature relaxes and recovers quickly. The range of motion improves, and muscle strength is restored.
Dry Needles are not quite the same as Acupuncture. Acupuncture is part of traditional Chinese medicine, while Dry Needling is part of Western medicine, which requires a medical diagnosis. There is clear scientific understanding of Dry Needling that is not dependent on any religious beliefs.
📢 Dry Needles (Dry Needling) are successfully used for musculoskeletal dysfunctions, fascial tightness, tendonitis, chronic injuries, neurological pain syndromes, inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases, professional and sports injuries, and more.
Dry Needles act by changing the way our body perceives pain (neurological effects) and help the body heal stubborn muscle spasms associated with trigger points in the muscles (myofascial). There are additional electrical and chemical changes inherent to Dry Needling that assist the healing process. It is important to know that the needles are part of the overall rehabilitation treatment. It is also important to know that Dry Needles are not a panacea – they are part of physiotherapy.
👨⚕️ Dry needles are one of the most popular and widely used techniques globally. They are used for therapeutic effects on musculoskeletal dysfunctions and pain symptoms. The "Dry Needling" technique uses thin sterile needles of varying lengths to reach even the deepest tissues and muscles. The insertion passes through the skin, superficial fascia, musculature, deep fascia, and can reach the periosteum. Dry Needles affect all tissues they pass through by creating micro-inflammation and bleeding (leakage of blood plasma onto the inflamed and painful area). This effect accelerates the recovery process, reduces pain, lowers muscle tone, and increases the range of motion.
Dry Needles (Dry Needling) are successfully used for musculoskeletal dysfunctions, fascial tightness, tendonitis, chronic injuries, neurological pain syndromes, inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases, professional and sports injuries, and more.
Course Description:
Optimal Dry Needling Solutions (ODNS) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (IAOM) are collaborating to introduce a new format for Dry Needling courses. The course consists of 7 hours of theory (translated into Bulgarian) and 3 days of intensive practical training.
Level One;
Theoretical part of ODNS and IAOM;
Historical overview of Dry Needling;
Neurophysiology of superficial and deep Dry Needles;
Ethical precautions and contraindications;
Dry needles for radicular symptoms;
Clinical indications and the role of agonist/antagonist;
Exam questions after each lecture.
***The online theoretical part must be completed before the practical sessions.
Level 1 - Practical part:
The three-day intensive course will prepare participants on how to apply Dry Needles in treating most common conditions, including myofascial pain.
