Don't Bet on the English!
Three friends. One unpredictable English match. Three different bets. And a lot to lose.
Pau, Bule, and Pixie have been friends since childhood, and football betting is their great passion and favorite escape from reality. This time, however, each has bet everything on a different outcome. With every passing minute, the tension rises, the score turns, and so do their relationships.
"Don't Bet on the English!" is a loud, bold, and painfully funny Serbian comedy about friendship, addictions, and the eternal boys who wait for the winning goal in the last minute instead of changing the game themselves.
Because sometimes you think you're betting on one match. But in reality, you've bet everything.
Annotation by Vasil Duyov-Tayg
"Don't Bet on the English!" by Vladimir Djurdjevic is a play written with love for football, friendship, youth, but also a play against the enslavement of money, selfishness, and radicalization. Against the fickle morality, the breakdown of trust, the fear of growing up, and the fear of taking responsibility.
Our production looks into the false idols that each of us creates and the difficult path to their debunking.
