Candle Writing & Wine | Le Soleil Atelier No. 2✍️📖🍷

Did you know that the tradition of writers’ gatherings comes from France? As early as the 17th century, intellectuals, writers, and artists gathered in Parisian cafés to write and read texts, discuss ideas, and inspire one another. These meetings were not merely social events, but spaces for exchanging thoughts, philosophical debates, and discovering new creative talents. Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Jean Cocteau, and Marcel Proust themselves found meaning and inspiration by attending these literary workshops.

For nearly three years now, even though we are located in the heart of Sofia, we have continued this tradition in our cozy French corner – Le Soleil. During this time, we have held more than 140 events, produced over 2,000 written works, and built a community of 65 regular members.

Now, with great excitement, we are opening a writers’ club in Plovdiv as well, because we believe that we have the potential to build a wonderful, inspiring community here too! This is our second event in Plovdiv.

How does the evening unfold?

• 18:30 – we gather over a drink for pleasant conversation, organizational matters, and creative preparation;
• 19:00 – we begin writing based on a specially concocted creative challenge, unknown to everyone present;
• The writing time may vary from 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the number of attendees;
• At the end, we read the written works aloud, if we wish.

Consumption at the venue is mandatory.
