To coincide with the release of Record Issue 11 and the supplement booklet, "The Invitations of Life... Child!” by Nicky Siano, which features flyers from Nicky's legendary nightclub The Gallery in New York.

This documentary, made mostly from footage of the last party in 1977, charts the history of the Gallery nightclub through accounts from the likes of David Mancuso and Frankie Knuckles. The Gallery followed The Loft, and was a precursor to clubs like Paradise Garage and Studio 54.

What we now understand as disco, in the early '70s was simply known as dance music.

This film is an intimate portrayal of the community of dancers that congregated at the party week after week.

Join us for this one-off screening. Limited to 80 people.
